1 Week Down.....many to go!

They say it takes 21 days to create a habit... I have spent close to 30 years creating and perfecting bad ones! I'm feeling pretty good about my workouts I have done in the last week, plus I started to zone my meals today, sort of! I accidentally consume both of my snacks at the same time. Before I started my "training", I weighed in at 185lbs, 11% body fat. I'm currently at 182lbs, 10.2% body fat. I have a feeling after this week I'm currently in that body fat % is going to drop significantly while my weight is going to go up. Here is a pic of Jeremy and I finish up his marathon... I'm on the right.

Zoned In!

Let's recap the weekend.... I comleted a 7.5 mile run in less then 6o minutes on Saturday! It has been over 2 years since I have run that distance! Now it's time to work on my eating. I'll be starting to ZONE all my meals tomorrow, which will take some dedication, but I have to be strict on myself. Anytime I become lax in my daily routine.. schedule.. or whatever it may be, I screw up... I don't want to screw up anymore! that's it for now, peace out.

kettlebells!

2 Words for You...BO JACKED! I have completed 2 kettlebell workouts this week as part of my marathon training, and let me tell you, I am feeling it! I have used kettlebells in other Crossfit workouts, but I have never dedicated entire workouts to that particular piece of equipment. If you have never experienced using them I highly recommend you signing up for one of Crossfitcentral classes they offer (www.crossfitcentral.com). I just feel lighter, but stronger at the same time! I know it is helping me build muscle around my knees which is a definite plus... tomorrow I run,.... then Saturday I will attempt my first 7 mile run in over 2 years,..if I'm feeling up to it after completing the 5mile loop. until I write again...Peace

Alpha

Yesterday moning I took part in something special. My brother-n-law, Jeremy, ran in the AT&T Marathon in Austin, Texas. I was lucky enough to help pace him in the last 6 miles of the race. The effects of the run were starting to take a hold of him when I joined up at mile 20. But Jeremy persevered and was able to complete his first marathon in 4hrs 07min!

While we were running, I thought to myself,... "I can do this!" I should tell you now though,... I have complained about my knees, ankles, hips, back for years! I played soccer for 20 plus years, and it has gradually taken it's toll on me. But SO WHAT, RIGHT?!

So, today I started my training for my first marathon with a 4 mile run around the neighborhood, and guess what??? Everything hurt, But SO WHAT!
