Born To Run....We Are The Running People
....sounds crazy, huh? If I was born to run why does it hurt so much? Running has always been a double edge sword for me. I use to love going down to Town Lake and blasting out 5 miles as fast I my legs would take me! But this love affair would only last about 2-3 weeks...that's about the time my right hip starts to hurt or my knees start to ache. So I back off the running for a few weeks until the pain goes away, and then I'm back at it again. This on again-off again love affair with running was insane to me,..."why am I doing this to myself???" Then crossfit came along and running wasn't a primary focus during the workouts yet you still received the anaerobic benefits I would get from running. But inside of me was longing for the days when I would run at Town Lake and "pick off" runner after runner who was in front of me.... then the book Born To Run came along.....
I'm finished reading it and I'm and totally amped up about ruuning again, this time though I will do it right! I even told my wife I will do an Ultramarathon....she laughed and called me crazy, by the way I have never run longer then 13 miles at one time.......We are the Running People!
I highly recommend Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, it will set you free...

I just finished this book over the weekend. Loved it too! Makes me want to put on my Vibrams and go for a run.
Fellas!
I just ran a gnarly trail in some new vibrams, just last night. I am inspired to be a consistent sub 5:40 miler...
I do trail running and am getting into ultras, here is a link to ones around texas. I am doing Bandera in January.http://www.tejastrails.com/
