Quality of LIfe
I woke up this morning to find 5 text messages from my mother informing me that both of my Grandmothers aren't doing well... "Good morning to you as well" is all I could think of. On top of this, I have maybe averaged 4 hours of sleep a night for the last 3 nights because my little man has some crazy drainage that makes him cough like a grown man(pity patty party over now). Back to my Grandmother's, both have been notorious over their life span to have TERRIBLE eating habits, lack of exercise, and as for one of my grandmother's, diagnosed with ephysema 15 years ago... Why are they in the boat that they are in? Granted both of them turned 80 recently, but for as long as I can remember they have both been sick off and on for years. Then I look at my mother, the medical professional that she is....following in the footsteps of her mother, is she insane?! my father as well...both my parents smoke like winter chimney's, and drink like sailors! I'm not perfect by any means, but to watch people literally destroy themselves on a daily basis makes me want to YELL so f*cking loud it hurts!
Dave Mathews song comes to mind with my own changes at the end...
We were above
You were standing underneath us
We were not yet lovers
Dragons were smoked
Bumblebees were stinging us
I was soon to be crazy
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
'Cause we're Tripping Billies
We're wearing nothing
Nothing but our shadows
Shadows falling down on the beach sand
Remembering once,
Out on the beaches we wore
Pineapple grass bracelets
So why would you care
To get out of this place
You and me and all our friends
Such a happy human race
'Cause we're Tripping Billies
We are all sitting
Legs crossed round a fire
My yellow flame she dances
Tequila drinking, oh, our
Minds will wander
To wondrous places
So why would you care
To get out of this place
You and me and all our friends
Such a happy human race
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Check 'em out, Boyd, yeah!
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
Eat, drink, and be merry
For tomorrow we die
The words to live by should be, eat healthy, drink in moderation, and you'll be merry if you do die tomorrow.....if not embrace the ugly pain that you are creating for you and everyone around you, don't be selfish.

I'm sorry to hear that Kris; I'll be sending good thoughts to your family. I hope Stone gets better soon too! Building that immune system is hard work!
Sorry to hear about your grandmothers' illness and Stone's sniffles (I'll keep 'em in my prayers). I cannot count how many people I know whose allergies are bothering them right now... just keep living by example, and your circle of influence will be impacted!
